Bee Balm

Monarda Didyma:

Also know as Bee Balm, Oswego tea and bergamot. This beautiful perennial is a member of the mint family and is hardy in zones 4-9. With unique flowers ranging from lavender, pink and red, these flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies and bees. This plant has a distinct smell of orange and spice which could be use to make as a tea. Give this beauty a little room to spread (18-24inches apart) and watch it multiply! Divide it up to share with your friends!

Lighting requirements – Prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade.

Plant Size3 to 4 feet tall, 18 to 36 inches wide

Growth Habits Bee balm can grow up to 4 ft tall with a spread of 3-4 ft, but dwarf varieties top out at just 15 inches, with a spread of 18-24 inches.
