We all know someone who is always cooking up something delicious. Here at Chester’s we’re lucky to have Sally. She not only smiles as she waits on our customers in the store, but when she’s off work she’s in the kitchen working on a tasty treat. Please enjoy this recipe for a terrific bread – it’s like a dessert, but makes a great breakfast too. Watch for more of Sally’s baking and cooking successes.
Chocolate-chocolate chip banana bread
½ cup of softened margarine1 cup sugar1 ½ cups of flour2 tablespoons cocoa1 tablespoon baking soda1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon vanilla3 very ripe bananas½ cup sour cream½ cup of nuts if desired½ cup chocolate chipsPreheat oven 350 degreesGrease and flour loaf panCream margarine and add sugar. Beat well. Add eggs, vanilla, sour cream, and bananas.Mix well till blended. Add in all the dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips.Add nuts if desiredBake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a pick comes out clean.
